Subject: 13th IMR Call for Papers

Join us for the 13th International Meshing Roundtable to be held in
Williamsburg, Virginia, September 19-22, 2004.
In 1992, Sandia National Laboratories started the Meshing Roundtable as a
small meeting of like-minded companies and organizations striving to
establish a common focus for research and development in the field of mesh
and grid generation. Sandia National Laboratories continues to organize the
International Meshing Roundtable, which has become recognized as an
international focal point annually attended by researchers and developers
from dozens of countries around the world. The International Meshing
Roundtable continues to focus on bringing together researchers and
developers from academia, national labs and industry in a stimulating, open
environment to share technical information related to mesh generation and
general pre-processing techniques.

This year's Roundtable will be held in Williamsburg, Virginia, USA. From
1699 to 1780, Williamsburg was the political, social and cultural capital to
Britain's largest, wealthiest and most populous colony. In its shops,
taverns, government buildings, homes and streets George Washington, Thomas
Jefferson, Patrick Henry, George Mason and other Virginia patriots debated
the ideas - liberty, independence and personal freedom - that led to the
founding of American democracy. Visitors to Colonial Williamsburg will step
back in time and gain a renewed appreciation for the events that led to the
American Revolution. The conference hotel is within walking distance of the
Historic Area.

Maestro awards. We encourage ubmission of posters presenting novel research

industry developers and meshing software vendors

CALL FOR PAPERS
Papers are being sought that present original results on meshing and related
topics. We encourage theoretical
and novel ideas with practical potential as well as technical applications
from industrial researchers. In addition to our core topics in meshing
related algorithms, we are also interested in obtaining technical papers
that relate analysis and application solutions to the mesh generation
process. Potential topics include but are not limited to:

* Adaptive meshing
* Anisotropic mesh generation
* CAD interface for meshing
* Geometry simplification, decomposition, & cleanup
* Tetrahedral/Hexahedral Hybrid meshing
* Industrial applications for complex geometries
* Mesh data formats and databases
* Mesh quality, smoothing, and optimization
* Mesh simplification and compression
* Meshing of parametric models
* Parallel meshing algorithms and software
* Scientific visualization
* Structured and unstructured grid generation
* Surface reconstruction
* Theoretical basis of mesh generation
* Volume and surface mesh generation

PROCEEDINGS AND JOURNAL SPECIAL ISSUE

The conference proceedings will be published by Sandia National Laboratories
and distributed at the Roundtable. Selected high-quality papers will be
invited to appear in a special issue of Engineering with Computers and in a
special issue of International Journal of Computational Geometry and
Applications.

CONFERENCE LOCATION AND
HOTEL RESERVATIONS

The Roundtable will be held at the Cascades Meeting Center at The
Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel and Suite. There are 3 hotels to choose from
this year:

* Woodlands Hotel and Suite Standard Room $99.00 Deluxe Room (King Suites)

* Williamsburg Lodge Standard Room $140.00
* Governor's Inn  Standard Room $75.00

The Williamsburg Lodge and Governor's Inn will be based upon room
availability...so make your reservations
early. Each of the hotels are within walking distance of the historic area
and nearby shuttles. All hotels
are just 20 miles from Newport News/Williamsburg Airport and 45 miles form
Richmond Airport. Reservations can be made by calling the group sales office
1-800-261-9530 for any of the three hotels (open 8:30-5:00 EST). You can
visit their website at: http://www.colonial williamsburg.org Reservations
must be made directly with the Colonial Williamsburg Resorts on an
individual basis. In order to facilitate reservations, attendees must dial
the
group sales office and indicate their group affiliation (13th International
Meshing Roundtable) when making
reservations. To ensure obtaining this rate, participants must make their
own reservations before August 13th, 2004. Please note that September is an
extremely busy time of the year in Williamsburg and hotel rooms are at a
premium. As a special consideration to the 13th Meshing Roundtable attendees
the Colonial Williamsburg Resorts has extended these room rates for up to 3
days pre and post stays, based on room type and applicable rate vailability.

PAPER SUBMISSIONS
All papers must be submitted electronically, in PDF format only, using
the Paper Submission Form that is available on the IMR website
beginning in March 2004. For further information regarding paper
submission and paper formats please visit:
http://www.imr.sandia.gov/13imr/main.html. Papers should have original
and significant contrbution in order to be accepted. Each accepted
paper will be given a 25 minute presentation slot at the meeting.
Accepted papers by authors who register to the conference will be
published in the proceedings and will also be available on CD and on
the IMR website. The proceedings are printed in black and white.
Papers should be 8-12 pages in length (9 point, two columns) and
received by May 1, 2004. Formatting details including templates for
Word and LaTeX will be available on the conference web site.
Instructions on converting to PDF format are also available. Final
camera-ready papers not meeting formatting guidelines will not be
accepted for publication in the proceedings.  Acceptance/rejection
notices will be sent out no later than June 15, 2004. Authors of
accepted papers must submit updated papers through the website.
Camera-ready papers must be received by July 15, 2004 or they will not
be printed in the proceedings. Questions regarding paper submission
can be directed to any committee member.
