The International Workshop on Modeling and Simulation in Biometric
Technology (BT'2004) is an international forum to promote research and
exchange ideas about all aspects of modeling and simulation of biometric
information. The Workshop encourages early dissemination of ideas and
results in this area. The goals of the BT'2004 Workshop, therefore, are
to tackle the problems of modeling and simulation in BT from different
directions. We plan to discuss the new projects and collaboration on new
generation of BT devices. With this respect, we invite specialists and
managers from the leading BT institutions and BT industry. Topics of
interest include hardware/software development, behavioral BT,
architectural problems, education and security.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
- Computational methods for modeling and simulation
- Image processing, recognition and authentication methods
- Biometric technologies and artificial intelligence
- Optimization problems in analyzing, modeling, and simulation of
biometric information
- Algorithms and support for analyzis and synthesis of
B-information
- Database maintenance
- Benchmark verification, including testing based on imitation of
B-information
Booklets with the accepted papers are distributed to only BT2004
Workshop participants. Full version of the selected papers will be
invited for publication in the textbook "Advanced Biometric Technology:
Modeling and Simulation" (Kluwer Publishers). Submission. Only
electronic submissions will be accepted. See
http://www.enel.ucalgary.ca/BT2004 for paper submission details. Authors
may submit extended abstracts for their proposed presentation (including
video submission) that must be no less than 1000 words and no greater
than 2500 words (i.e. 5 pages double column, 10 pt font). We especially
encourage submissions of the results of the early stages of research,
which may highlight important new problems without providing all
details.
