Call for papers
The Scandinavian Workshop on Algorithm Theory (SWAT) is a biennial
international conference, held since 1988 in the five Nordic countries
and intended to serve as a forum for researchers working on
algorithms. We invite submissions of papers presenting original
research in all areas of the algorithms field including, but not
limited to, the following:
- approximation algorithms,
- computational biology,
- computational geometry,
- data structures,
- distributed algorithms,
- external-memory algorithms,
- graph algorithms,
- information retrieval,
- online algorithms,
- optimization algorithms,
- parallel algorithms,
- randomized algorithms, and
- string algorithms.
Submissions must be of at most 12 pages (plus, optionally, a clearly
marked appendix to be read at the discretion of the program
committee). Simultaneous submission to other conferences with
published proceedings is not allowed. Contributors should preferably
use an electronic submission procedure that will be set up and
described at the conference web site http://swat.diku.dk/. Authors who
do not have internet access are advised to contact the organizers
(swat at diku.dk or telephone +45 35321416) at an early time to obtain
information concerning alternative submission procedures. Every
submission should list a corresponding author's e-mail address and fax
number, if available.
The proceedings will be published in the Springer-Verlag series
Lecture Notes in Computer Science
(LNCS, http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/index.html). The final version
of each accepted paper must be submitted in electronic form conforming
to the LNCS style (see http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html)
and not exceeding 12 pages.
SWAT alternates with the Workshop on Algorithms and Data Structures
(WADS, http://www.wads.org), held in odd-numbered years.
Important dates:
Deadline for submission: February 10, 2004 at noon (GMT)
Notification of authors: March 23, 2004
Final version due: April 20, 2004
End of early registration: May 4, 2004
Conference: July 8-10, 2004
For further information, please consult the conference web pages or
send e-mail to swat at diku.dk.
