JAIST (Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), School of 
Information Science, is seeking applications for the following position
in the area of algorithms including computational geometry and combinatorial
optimization.

   * Associate Professor
     We seek to appoint an associate professor who is expected to lead a
     research project and to supervise PhD research. This post is offered
     for a period of up to 10 years. A successful candidate must have a PhD
     in computer science (or closely related fields), and have a strong
     research record.

We seek candidates with research interests in all areas of algorithms including
computational geometry and combinatorial optimization.

JAIST is a graduate institute, founded in 1990, dedicated to research and
graduate education in Knowledge Science, Information Science, and Materials
Science. It is located in the suburbs of Kanazawa, a beautiful old city.
School of Information Science at JAIST is one of largest and most active
research centers in computer science in Japan, consisting of over 50
research staffs, about 300 master students and 70 PhD students.
