Computational Geometry Post-Doc

The Department of Computer Science at CMU is recruiting a Post-Doc
interested in computational geometry with interests in mesh
generation. This position is funded through the Sangria project, an
interdisciplinary program involving computer scientists,
mathematicians, and engineers at CMU and the University of
Pittsburgh's McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine. The project
goal is to develop the computational tools needed to simulate blood
flow at the cellular level, with application to the design of
artificial heart devices; see the project web page at
http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~cunha/sangria/sangria.html. Issues ranging
from the design and analysis of new meshing algorithms to the
simulation of flows with dynamic interfaces on parallel computers are
being addressed.

The Post-Doc should have interests that including the design and
analysis of new 2 and 3D meshing algorithms as well as seeing that
these new algorithms be used in applications.

The position is available now with definite funding for one year;
continued funding for up to 3 years is anticipated.
